Lowercase letter tracing worksheets, cursive, toddler

Printable cursive tracing worksheets covering the 26 lower-case letters, 0.92 inch letters, 7 sheets on US Letter and A4.

This set covers the 26 lower-case letters, one per row, across 7 sheets. Letters are about 0.92 of an inch tall measured to the top writing line. A child who has not yet developed fine motor control writes from the shoulder and elbow rather than the fingers, and needs the room.

The letters to trace are broken outlines, so the hand carries the stroke between marks rather than following a solid shape.

Each row has a solid top line, a dashed middle line at the x-height and a solid baseline. The middle line is what makes letter proportion teachable: a letter that overshoots it is wrong in a way a child can see without being told.

Cursive is normally introduced once print letters are formed reliably. These sheets present one letter at a time rather than joined into words, because the first thing to learn is each letter's shape and its entry and exit strokes. Letterforms are Playwrite Us Trad.
